What we stand for

A bond of students and alumni

The Landsmannschaft Saxo-Suevia brings together current and former students of many different subjects in Erlangen. We are united by a lifelong friendship between young and old, and these principles have carried us for generations.

A bond for life

Friendship across faculties and generations, from first-semester students to alumni well over 80, true to our motto.

Open to everyone

Background, nationality, religion and skin colour make no difference to us. Our members include students who were not born in Germany.

Politically and religiously neutral

We are not tied to any party, ideology or denomination. Every member forms his own opinion, and we discuss openly and respectfully.

Against all radicalism

We reject political and social radicalism of any kind, as well as any arrogance towards other people.

For Europe

We have chaired the Coburger Convent twice, both times under the motto “Family of European Nations”. A united, peaceful Europe matters to us.

The Mensur, with integrity

We uphold the Mensur, academic fencing under strict rules. It is not about winning, but about overcoming fear and standing up for others.
